I think this means Everton are out based on my working out but so many games been played at minute
Norwich are bottom of the south league with no wins-they have 2 league wins since october last year with the last one been march, they only win the odd cup game

Everton have a small chance of getting through,as one of the 2 teams-[stoke should be one of them]

Everton need Blackburn to draw or lose, and they need man utd to beat west brom or if west brom win to win no more than 2-0

Final score,Wolves come from 1 down to win 2-1,thats one score gone for us, it now comes down to West Brom v man utd tuesday to see if Everton get through or not,if that all happens,it also meant Liverpool went out by 1 goal

So relying on any result worse for West Brom than them winning by 2 goals?

man utd win has us through, west brom need to win no more than 2-0 if that actual score for us to go though on GD,any other 2 goal west brom win would put them through on GD [as they would have scored more]

Everton have 2 wins,1 defeat,scored 5,con 6 GD -1 points 6
West brom have 1 win,1 defeat, scored 2,con 5, GD -3, points 3

So...

United win
Draw
1goal win for brom

Any of those were through?

Just taken a look at the format, quarter finals if we get this result in our favour...we'd have walked 2nd if not for the heavy defeat.

Btw a few years ago, we had a youth group who were heralded as being really a standout and ones with very high potential...think they werw u12s or something like that -- quite a few posts on here about them.

Is that this batch of u18s?

At least the first team did better than the u18’s yesterday.....
The present looks bleak and the future looks.....
A proud day to be a Blue
While there aren’t may aspects of our club to be optimistic about at the moment , our u18 s are actually one of them.
There are definitely changes being made at both u18 and U23s level. Yesterday’s team was again one of the youngest we’ve had in recent years, seven 1st year Scholars started , 3 Schoolboys on the bench . Four of the best u18 players were either with the U23s or injured - Astley, Onyango, Carroll, Mackenzie Hunt. Similarly, the U23s had 5 teenagers starting , and one of our youngest teams in recent years. We appear to be letting these home grown youngsters come through as opposed to buying youngsters in.
All this optimism of course counts for nothing if we’re losing week in week out, but at these ages things can turn around quite quickly. Most people have realistic expectations and know that even when we have a dozen talented youngsters we’ll be lucky to get 2 or 3 coming through as first team regulars. Some get overexcited when a name is first mentioned, then lose interest if he’s not the new Rooney, me I just enjoy their journey win or lose.

Of course you are right
Lets just hope that the academy can produce some decent players. We certainly need some
Today just feels somewhat lacking in any optimism

Let's hope the next manager actually has an interest in developing and promoting youth, should be one of the top considerations with any appointment rather than getting relegated with Hull.
