Everton Youth Teams Thread

We are huge compared to them, but tactically they are coached far better. They run off the ball, they move, they dont take 4 touches to control the ball. And that's me saying if they're lucky only one of that lot will make it.

The coaching our players are receiving is nothing short of embarrassing tbh

Yes it's funny as I think we are similar ages the two teams. They look like small, technical players, we look much bigger.

I think you see the impact of having the same first team coach runs through the team. They press the way the first team do.They have hadmost of the play, but in terms of chances it's been quite even. I hope we play better 2nd half as the fina bal has been poor.

Tbf John actually looked promising a couple of years ago but has had a lot of injuries and is no further on

I remember mate. But we've said that about loads, Baningeme, Broadhead, Astley etc etc look promising but they've got to produce. Picking up a couple of grand a week to stroll around telling their mates they play for Everton when in reality if they went to go and play at Newport theyd get absolutely ragged off the pitch and told they've no business being a pro footballer.

No idea if that goes on, but we have kept lads too long. More ruthlessness is needed for sure. That being said, outside of Baningime, not many tonight who are older than 19/20.

Would be interested to see Cannon come on to be honest

A lot of our players seem to get serious injuries which always sets their developments back.
Why I'm worried about Dobbin now being unable to stay fit for any length or time

So many poor players Dario. Look at someone like John at rb and they're seriously saying that's the best they can come up with recruitment and coaching wise? Kids absolutely scared of the ball and yet will probably have been with Everton for night on 10 years of his career.

What Baningeme and Broadhead offer us when both will be leaving in a few months as well

The mind boggles mate. Onyango has all the attributes to become a top pro but would I trust our coaching staff to turn him into a first team ready player??? Nah
This has been so worryingly for a long time now
When are we going to get more progressive in bringing the young guys through?
We need to move on from the dinosaurs and develop young players more technically than we have done in the last 20 years or so

I’ve not seen us at all this season but I watched us quite a lot the past 2/3 years for work. is it still as direct as previous years? I always feel Unsworth fell on his feet in 2016/17 with how good his squad was (Davies, Dowell, Calvert Lewin, Pennington, Kenny, Walsh etc) were championship standard at least and were close to the first team.
