Small deffo off then, supposedly a free agent now. Just took Everton out of his Instagram bio also. Shame

Can anybody explain the legality of the two year Scholarship he signed which ends June 2022? I presume we can’t tear up anybody’s agreement before it’s end and refuse to pay them if they are deemed “ not good enough” , does this provide any kind of binding agreement for a player unless they sign a pro deal with somebody?

I recall we let Max Thompson move on early from our u18s to Burnley in December about 20 months ago but I think it was “with the club’s agreement”.

It may be a shame , but for me it’s a case of shrug shoulders and move on .

Don't see this as the end of the world if I'm honest. It's been painfully obvious the writing was on the wall for nearly 6 months. If the club didn't give him a 30 second run out against Sheff Wed this would be nowhere near as bad as its made to be.

Metcalfe was very impressive in the U23s game he played in against Brighton, his superb curving through ball to Bowler resulted in the penalty From which we scored. We had injuries in the U23s at the time and a Youth Cup match a few days later so we rested some u18s and he got his chance, but played 90 mins as aSchoolboy and he never looked out of place. Looking forward to seeing more of him this season.

It's an area we seem particularly well stocked especially when onyango is fit

Yeh though it seems like he's out a while longer so for the u23 central midfield positions we have price, Warrington, Butterfield and metcalfe.
Probably forgot someone, not sure if markelo is still an Everton player but will likely move on if he is.

Always think it's hard for a young foreign player strange country and surroundings might need a bit more time ,we haven't a good track record with these sort of signing ,low risk I suppose

Yes don't want to be too harsh as he's young in a new country as you say but he's literally shown nothing as to why they brought him over.
