Everton Youth Teams Thread

I haven’t, it’s very rare to hear of kids at this age unless they’re local. The hype only starts coming at u16 really but Sunderland’s under 15s have just beat United in the SF and qualified for the floodlit cup final, which is the FAYC for the younger age groups, so they must have some top players and you’d imagine he’s one of them.

I do love us signing the best players at these ages, I think it can be very lucrative but if must be the elite you’re signing and we should be doing more of it as lots of other clubs are now.

I'd made a slight error with my post, went back to change it and just realised now it doesnt make sense lol

He's played 7 games now for Sunderland U18s. So you must be right that be one of their top u15 players in age but is beyond that levek now.

Yeah outclassed, but here’s the City team :
van Sas, Lewis, Charles, Mbete, Galvez, Lavia, Kayky, Palmer, Delap, McAtee, Edozie
Subs: Oduroh, Murray-Jones, Gyabi, Bobb, Egan-Riley

A couple of their subs Gyabi and Egan-Riley would get into our team , plenty of first team experience too particularly Palmer . To pick out a few , Google Mbete, Palmer , Delap, McAtee, Edozie to see how good they are and why they are giving us a tonking. Our best bet is to realise they can’t all make it with City, keep a watch on them and try to pick a couple up on the cheap ?‍♂️

McAtee + Palmer are the two there with the most potential ive heard.

Exactly the types we should target and if City want to add in buybacks then let them...for a much higher fee

Palmer looked very, very good. In fairness, his goal from the edge of the box, there was no-one anywhere near him, or making any effort to close him, he had all the time in the world to pick his spot.
Bit of a footballing lesson this evening, in fairness unless I've got it wrong you're giving a lot of the younger players game time for the U23's. Man City had a lot more experience. May well reap dividends over the next couple of seasons. Just can't see an overall plan for your club as a whole, it looks like there's a lot to sort out.
One positive - you're a million miles away from where we are!

Dont worry, we coming.

If you're from the North West, are you joining Manchester City, United, Liverpool or Everton?
I get what you're saying, but it's probably not as simple as that. Granted, Man City look streets ahead, Manchester United have traditionally been good, Liverpool don't stand out, and Everton are a very good option. A small anecdote from Man City, with one of their youth scouts, had a 'no worries if we don't find them young, we'll just get them later' attitude. It's hoovering up talent. Loads will just get lost along the way. Personally, I'd try and stay away from that.

Everton need to really push the 'family club' angle. Unfortunately, it's easier said than done with the crazy money being thrown around everywhere. But if you're going to go with that angle, really go with it.

The whole youth system is a mess. I have no real idea how it could be sorted, its probably too late - in the lower leagues, any prospect can be taken away with the promise of a bit of cash. Leads to clubs like Brentford giving up on it, effectively.

We had George Hirst, the son of a club legend, and the whole thing was an utter mess. He basically lost 2 years of development, all down to money. He's starting to come good, and he's due to play against us for Portsmouth tomorrow (the whole story is bonkers, he's on loan from Leicester) in our must win game for the play offs. We'll see how it plays out.

I remember the lad, Leicester shafted you hard by getting their sister club to buy him so they wouldnt have to pay compo.

Yeah, it was a complete mess, made worse by Nigel Pearson, another club legend, being the manager of the lower league Belgian / Dutch (can't remember which, middle age memory) club who 'signed' him - it meant they had to pay less compensation to us, even though they were effectively a feeder club to Leicester.
As a club we didn't cover ourselves in glory either, freezing him out from training. But Hirst lost a lot of training and development time. All down to how the system is set up, and money.
In fairness to David Hirst, I met him briefly at an away game at Sunderland a couple of seasons ago, clearly trying to keep a very low profile - I think he still has a massive love for the club.
It's all about cash though, unfortunately.
