It’s hard to take a lot of positives from that , but some of the u18s showed up well. Isaac Heath looks far better playing further back where he gets more of the ball and can use his attacking skill to drive forward. Dixon had some good moments , Okoronkwo too. Eli Campbell seems to have gone backwards this season .
There’s some interesting post match comments from Paul Tait . Nine u18s featured today and it seems they’ll be in and around the u21 team for the rest of the year in the u21 PL Cup . It suggests that those who are currently with the first team will stay there for a while, maybe return for the Papa John Trophy game.
“There’s loads to pick up and get better at, we will have this group for the rest of the Premier League Cup games, so that’s the rest of November and right into December, so there are plenty of chances to work together and improve.
“But today showed them the standard that they need to be at and how big the step up is at Under-21's football.
“So it’s the standards, ‘this is what you’re in for, get used to it in these next six weeks or so’ and let’s see where we get to.”

Don't remember noticing Owen Barker in any previous youth games but he showed some good skill at various points in this one.
I think that we will see some or all of Welch,Price, Mills,Quirk and Cannon go out on loan in January .
That will give them five months of senior football and the opportunity to come back in the summer and stake a claim.
If we can't sign another striker then Tom Cannon will probably have to stay.
