Everton Youth Teams Thread

Bit of a cracker from the updated PL squad list. Let's hope he's fine sticking with Demi.

What surprised me was the relative young age of the squad, not just the number of u18s there but most of the others were in their 1st year out of u18s and we weren’t putting the older ones in like Butterfield and Whitaker. Of course we have a number out on loan so there aren’t many older players left at FF , but later in the season it opens the way for a few 1st year Scholars to move up , and then u16s to play more at u18s.

Yeh was refreshing. Hopefully isn’t just a cup-only sort of squad.

Maybe ,it’ll be interesting to see u21 team Tuesday night v Stockport ,I was thinking initially we’d see Armstrong/ Dixon back then realised we’ve got League Cup against Southampton at GP, could be a tough choice if Sky+ button is showing both.
Surely with Mangala, Garner, Doucs, Tim and Gueye all back in the mix Armstrong should play at Stockport rather than be 5th choice midfielder. We all know Dyche won't play him either way

That makes sense, right now it’s hard to imagine any scenario where Dyche says to Armstrong/ Dixon “ Right lads on you go , things are comfortable out there, our senior players will look after you.”

I think potter , tactics wise and the ability to trust and develop young players would be an ideal fit, its just that hes mentioned in the past hes been easily affected by fan discontent maybe do some boo training go to some brentford or southampton games in the stands as they despise brighton to toughen him up

Baines really has no excuses for a poor season this time around. Haven't seen this sort of youth investment in some time, maybe ever.
Yeah I make that the third signing this summer after Graham and Loney who are all their club’s youngest ever senior debutant. Very different level of course but if they were pushing for senior football you’d expect them to do good things at 18s level, initially at least. Good to see the effort going into recruitment at that level.
