….i really like that he finishes both goals just inside the post, it’s an indication he knows what he’s doing when faced with an opportunity. I mentioned it earlier in the season when I had to look him up but I like what I see of the lad.

Yeah, very quick thinking to play Benjamin in first time when it just came back off the Liverpool defender. And Benjamin was on to it pretty quick too, wouldn't have been surprised if he had just stood there and not made the run, but saw the pass and reacted quickly to get on it. Great presence of mind by both of them I thought. And love his closing down in the 95th minute for the second. Great to see so late in the game, and got his reward. We've all seen keepers in the Prem etc make similar mistakes as well.

Tait is full of praise for Benjamin in his post match analysis , particularly his work rate and his ability to play across the front line .Graham has the same work rate ethic too , both are in contrast to Ellis Simms when he was banging in the goals , without the ball Simms was statuesque and rarely involved. Both look like they can adapt their styles to suit while still retaining the essential quality of finding the net.

Getting the two Northern Irish lads was a bit of a coup given the interest in them, certainly deserves credit for that.

🎣🙂. Last season we were pretty poor at u18/21 , but we brought in 8 at u18 from outside and and another 4 at u21 including Benjamin, 3 of these Tamen, Boakye, Gomez I haven’t seen yet . It’s transformed my Optimism meter , and makes me happy while knowing only a few will eventually make it 🙂
