Thelwell was part of the process that signed a fair few last summer.

I'd like to see that continue with an element of ruthlessness this summer & funds to be able to sign players. Justin Clarke cost a "six figure fee" and i would like to see the club going after top prospects even if they cost a "seven figure fee".

A £10mil budget for transfer fees could save the club a small fortune in the future. Or it could fail, but the risk isnt enormous.

Thing is, I agree entirely with the principle. However, in our current state it feels a bit like going for a prostate checkup when you’ve got a gaping gunshot wound to the head.

I think in a couple of years time you’re absolutely on the right lines, we simply can’t afford to do this right now though surely.

8 first team players I’d say we need. That’s conservative. Hopefully we can pick up a fair few youth players under a million and some surprise us until we’re in a position to push the boat out.
