Evertonians & England

Thanks for the many messages in reply. I see myself as scouse over English or British. Maybe going a bit deep, but after living down south for a few years, i find southerners don't like scousers. I feel this aswell from many other parts of the country that we as scousers seem to be not liked by other English people. This has given myself and possibly others a sort of siege mentailty approach which makes me feel separtate from others in this country. We, more than any other type of people, ie Geordies, Cockneys, Mancs, seem to be attacked by people more and for me personally i feel i dnt wanna be apart of the same country as these people

Id defo be all for a Republic of Merseyside!!

I don't get that at all.

I've been around London for 10 years and I think the only reason the southeners hate the scousers is that we're funnier than them

When we played the home internationals championship I used to go to them all .I loved beating Scotland at Hampden.I dont go to many now but after Everton England getting beat hurts more than anyone else.Disillisioned over the years though with poor tactics from over rated managers Taylor , Mclaren anyone? I also think the manager should be English:(

You're saying the last English England managers have been overrated yet think England should have an English manager. Who would you have given the job to instead of Capello?

I think this is the reason why England are [Poor language removed].

Lost touch with the fans.

Australia welcomes you with open arms.

Just dont start any punch ups.

Australia welcomes you with open arms providing you respect the country & it's cultures. I'm sure the people in charge have many faults but from the outside their attitude appears to be bang on in terms of immigration & crime etc & if I didn't have so many ties here I'd probably live there

Interesting thread for a non-Englishman to read. To sum up:

1. You support Everton no matter what - you're Blue for life, win or lose, chasing top 4 or fighting relegation, that will never change.

2. You don't care about the England team, but if they improved / won / contended for a World Cup or Euro, then you'd get behind them.

Does that seem accurate? (I'm not taking the mickey - serious question this.)

1. Yes

2. Only if I thought it would benefit Everton

I'm English and of course would love England to win the World Cup, got a bit pissed of the last WC with all the red [Poor language removed] in the pub were in my face because Crouch/Gerrard scored. Could of swore they had England tops on!!! Although when we went out on penalties again i did ask them why can't they miss with Red [Poor language removed] tops on.

Good question,I am not saying we have a better Englishman, but to me all International teams should be managed by their own nationality. Now I admit there is not a great choice for us and the last two English were not good id have gone back to Venables.(y)

I follow the England team more from habit than patriotism. I'd like to see them win something (a match for example :P), but they'll never get my blood racing to the same extent as the Blues.
Feck, that's it, England should play in blue shirts(y)

to be honest only in 66 have I seen England have all the fans behind them.then they conned us when we bought our block of tickets England's semi should have been at Goodison but got switched:@ still the atmosphere at wembley in the final was great those were the days two great finals in a short time I must admit I enjoyed our one more then the England one.(y)

True to an extent. But, I want to see the England team play like a team! They don't have to win anything, I just want to see them playing for the badge, the fans and each other rather than going for individual glory, like they all usually do.

i really enjoyed the EURO's. i was surprised as i thought without england it would be awful.

the 2002 and all things before that i loved the whole getting behind the team.. i think rooney in 2004 masked my indifference and 2006 w/c was just awful.

i think the whole WAG's thing did it for me, not to mention englands best players not performing for their country but being world beaters at club level.

living in a foreign country i do have some banter with the koreans over the footy (these guys are so mad for their team it's uncomfortable) but watching england with them is embarrassing as they look bored as we grind out a laboured 1-0 win. or worse still, losing at wembley in a must draw game.

nah... give me everton over england every time.

if england ban the stupid WAG'S and get stuck in they might change my mind. but that will never happen.

England is the southers and lower league teams, it does nothing for me. Scotland, Wales & Ireland I can dig - they dont go overseas and act like complete bellends.
