I was thinking this, we are rumoured to be after Under (I hope so), would he speak to Cenk first? I would think so. Would the news about fans at the training ground, booing all game (Saturday), toxic atmosphere in general,Schneids possibly being dead, make him consider not signing for us? The lure of Carlo might well be enough but there is a hell of a bad taste at the club at the moment.
In fairness mate, I think if anyone spoke to Cenk, he would speak well of us. despite his patchy form the crowd has never really turned on him, because you can see he tries his best (he is simply too slow). I do get your point, but these same player s and agents queue up to get their clients signed up for the big Italian clubs, so comparing our 7 train spotters to Juve or Inter’s Ultra’s I doubt we have shaken European football to its core?

Very true. It'll be a walk in the park for Under if he does come then.

Because we make those Turkush stadiums sound like libraries...

If I was Brands I would use it to my advantage emphasising what rare passion this great institution evokes amidst "plastic" disinterest at clubs like Utd, RS, Arsenal, Chels etc. I would explain how this is one of the last opportunities in world football to awaken a genuine sleeping giant and fan the eternal flame this club has been through the history of football to create a raging inferno the like of which has been borderline extinct in modern togger.

Those with the ambition to become footballing gods will sign those who don't then stuff 'em - we probably dodged a bullet. .

With all the news with regards to the club this week, the fans kicking off. Players getting grief. Fans turning up at training. Does anyone think this could be damaging us with signing new players? Will players see this and want to distance themselves from joining us?
wasn't there a team last season (not england) whose fans stormed the practice pitched and beat up their players? at least we're not that level

Things will settle down, but of itself bad coverage is bad coverage.

Much of the social media aspect of it will have little impact and circulation but in the more regular media, you'd rather we were not the subject of negative and critical pieces.

Agents in particular tend to have the ear to the grapevine and can get a more factual lowdown on the state of a clubs affairs and won't pay much heed to outside hearsay and tittle-tattle when advising their clients.

Ancelotti came here - to the defiance and disbelief of almost the entire football world, media experts and keyboard warriors among them.

But that doesn't mean we should dismiss it as irrelevant - it isn't and it further prevents the club from setting and then controlling its own narrative which should be the objective of our communications strategy, if we had one.

It's a huge pity that what was a disgraceful showing on Sunday has to a degree put an early dampener on what should have been and is, fantastic news for the club in appointing one of the best managers in football, worldwide. That gets forgotten and it's largely the fault of the players.
