Must be something wrong with Hamilton’s car given the difference between him and Russell.

Pleased for Perez and I didn’t realise it was his first pole. He must be on a constant high since being removed of his seat at Racing Point/Aston Martin.

As for everything else, F1 risks becoming a bit of a farce with all the issues going on in Saudi. It’s just one thing after another and red flag after red flag, on and off the track. It’s not a great look for the sport. In their quest for money it has made the people in charge look amateur and dishonourable.

The top 3 had incredible laps didn't they? Nerves of steel to push the car to the limit on this dangerous circuit! Buzzing for Perez too - that's some wait to get on pole. Probably ought to have done so last season seeing as his teammate did it 10 times though.

Still think Lewis can finish well, who knows if the RBs will have issues again, and you can bet there will be several safety cars.

No doubt he'll go out on a ballsy strategy, wait longer than the rest for fresh tyres, hope for a luckily-timed safety car etc, hehe. Think the top 5/6 is beyond him like, but he'll probably make up a number of positions in the first lap alone.

I'm going for Sainz to bring it home from Leclerc, and Alonso a surprise third.

Some of the footage was amazing. Genuinely looked like the leading cars were glued to the track.

Nice to see Perez get a pole. Ferrari won't particularly care which way round their drivers finish provided the maximize what the car is capable of, but Red Bull would very much ideally like Max to finish ahead of Sergio, so it will be interest to see if and how that is engineered, especially if there is a Ferrari or two between them.

Nothing intrinsically wrong with car.. Lewis said he just went the wrong way on the setup.

Gotta be worth just starting from the pit lane so they can make changes to the car for the race? Very little to be gained for him to start from 16th on the grid. Either they make the car drivable and he works his way back into the points, or otherwise he's just going to be stuck with an undrivable car fighting the Astons.
