I've never been Sainz's biggest fan. He has never suggested that he can hold his own in wheel to wheel combat against any of the top duys. Any time Verstappen starts next to him you always think Max is going to easily get around him.

Same here, however I think he was on a hiding to nothing starting P2 on this track layout, very easy for Max to have the racing line after turn one.

Very little grip off-line so he was at notable disadvantage on the start. He's decent driver, definitely worthy of a good seat in F1. Number 2 driver though.

Absolutely not, he's a safe driver who knows his #2 role.

Yeah, he's definitely a #2.
Remember too back in Bahrain where he got side by side with Verstappen on the restart but couldn't get it done.... he just isn't as good as the top few guys when it comes to having that extra bit of ability to be able to do something special and make the difference in close quarters. In the end in that race Verstappen retired so it didn't matter in the end, but Verstappen has easily got his number.

It shouldn't be, it's got a bit of everything, very dull so far.
