Just watching 50 greatest moments of the F.A Cup on BBC2, been a great watch, bar that frigging goal from Whiteside in 85.

I remember crying as a young lad when he scored that and we lost the Cup.

Really jealous of the Villa fans going down there today.

Can't believe it's been 6 years to the day we were down there.

The Villa Trilogy is still vivid in my mind four decades later......and even though we lost n the end is still the seminal event of the 70s generation supporters, most of us not being regular matchgoers as kids in the 60s, including 1970.

It was our first trip to Wembley to see the Blues......it was Big Bob in his imperious pomp.

It was Duncan McMagic and Mickey Lyons.

It was our beloved King Andy.....and the elegant Martin Dobbo.

It was the joy of last minute equalisers.....and the heartbreak of last minutes losses.

The Villa Trilogy was Everton personified and writ large on the fields at Wembley, Hillsborough and Old Trafford.

So this afternoon I am going to transport myself back to a spring day in 1977, pretend I am up the other end of the ground and root for the Villa.

Oop the Villa, me babbies.......:pint2:

I love that vid not only for the goal, but the speckie four eyes in the anorack running on the pitch!
can't remember who it was, but someone on here cut him out once and was able to superimpose him into varying notable events from history

The BBC do all this coverage best.
I'm really happy that the BBC have seemingly reverted to heralding and supporting the cup through a full day's coverage. Bringing back the magic!

As an individual who finds watching TV pretty tedious (unless it is a documentary on BBC2 or 4), I'm really enjoying today.

As a kid we would always spend the day watching final day with the family around and a nice spread done by the women. It was an annual event.

Although I wouldn't get tired of punching Aldo in those horrendous glasses as he raps away...

I've had a boss day since 10 this morning watching all the F.A Cup stuff, brilliant, like someone has already said, the Beeb do this stuff better than anybody.

I'm happy paying my license fee just for coverage they've provided today, and the odd documentary I do watch on TV.

I've particularly enjoyed Lineker and his route to the final documentary and then the ol' football TOTP. They were terribly cheesy but still amazing.

"Here we go, here we go, here we go. Everton are the best we all knowwwww....."

Wenger telling everyone how great the FA cup is, didn't he say a while back that finishing in the top four is more important, and devalued the FA cup, could be wrong like ?

I'll be honest, this afternoon is going to be brilliant.

Premiership Rugby Final right now
FA Cup Final 5.30
German Cup Final 7.00
Spanish Cup Final 8.30

And England Vs New Zealand.

Boss.
