Fabian Delph

He's a DM worth a go with doucs and VVB flanking him especially in the away games we have lacked a proper DM all season
With respect to yourself, I don't think he's anything near a 'proper' DM given the way he's actually played ( it's that long ago, I know). He's given so many balls away with poor judgement/made fouls in poor locations resulting in goals. I know we're thin on the ground, but in a relegation battle, he's the last one I'd hope to rely on. Maybe we're beggars who can't be choosers... I'm still hoping we're not.

Maybe not but the choice is him or Gomes maybe he can be useful in a few games till Allan is back? We need someone to shield that back four, Gomes and Doucoure won't do it, it isn't DVB's game. I don't like Delph or how he has largely performed for us or been injured or unavailable but he was decent in a few games and we need some bite in these crucial relegation six pointers.

If he isn't planning to retire and go into media work or something then his contract running out and the need to put himself in the shop window as something other than a malingering parasite could be our chance to actually get a few decent games out of him.

But even as I write this I know it's a lie, even if he stays fit by some miracle he'll absolutely get himself sent off when the going gets tough.

Signed in 2019, he‘s made 36 appearances….. Ive probably spent more time cutting my nails than he has playing in that time. What a signing.

The biggest impact he’s ever had here is being ridiculously sent off against Watford, without him and down to 10 men Everton won the game. What a signing.
