Fabian Delph

This guy is up there with one of the worst signings we have made, for many reasons.

We can only hope that with his contract running out, he will want to show what he can do to impress some other team enough to steal a new contract. We really are down to the bottom of the bucket aren't we!

You know how bad we are when i am actually relieved that we might have Delph available tonight. Not because he is boss but because we are that bad. Probably the only player able to pass the ball competently currently. No doubt he will break his ankle after the first tackle and enjoy the rest of the season in bed. Would seem apt for this appalling season.

This. He’s at least got some know how of playing as a defensive midfielder and can organise some of the rest of the shower who seem vacant as to where they should be and what they should do.

Think I'm the only one who hopes he doesn't start - definitely got something to offer, but coming back in off a long-term injury against that Burnley side, he'll get bullied. I'd much rather keep the more physical Holgate in his position, give him a cameo appearance off the bench if we need to shore up a lead, then get more out of him against a physically weaker United side at Goodison (that we can still definitely get something out of). The young lad Branthwaite can deputise for Keane; that's the only change I'd make from West Ham (Gordon for Gray as well actually)

Well, fingers crossed...

He's been a terrible signing - but I'd rather play him than Holgate in the middle. He owes us a £10m display. Keep us up and you will have changed my complete view of you. Just don't do anything stupid. We all know he has a red card in him but he just has to temper any potential late challenges. He is nowhere near match fit and mistimed tackles will be punished. He isn't and has never been a hard man - but he does have football skill much more than Holgate. Please God we see that tonight if he's selected.
