I remember watching Robbie Brookside at my local theatre doing his wrestling thing in Kent and someone from the crowd shouted "Everton are more than S&*£ " . He was supposed to be a face that night but he broke Kayfabe and got in this blokes face .
His opponent that night was Doug Williams ( Big indie and TNA talent ) and he just burst out laughing .
I had no idea Robbie had awesome taste till that night .
What was the deal with the ungrateful reds upsetting Shankley enough that he switch sides to the blues ?
They stopped shankly from coming to melwood. Paisley was a bit fed up players calling shankly boss and I suppose you could see his point.. He started coming to Everton instead. Remember his first game at goodison he was spotted by the street end who broke out with a song of the day Hey rock and rock, Shankleys on the dole. Lots of laughter and Shankley waved to the ground. He became an honorary blue.

The father of one of the kids at school (although a sad, sad red) was on Everton's books as a schoolboy then. He saw Shankley at Bellefield quite a lot he says. Apparently, he was given a season ticket by Everton and had physio for a dodgy back or leg or something. Rumours that he coached the youth team are exaggerations but he was deffo. there. It's unlikely that he formed any sort of attachment to Everton but, as someone who knew nothing in life other than football, he was very glad of the reception he got from the club ...
