Cheese on toast for me

The people who do it tend to be the biggest man-baby mad men going and I think a lot of them need help or the touch of another human but what freaks me out even more is the huge numbers of subscribers and viewers you get

I live down south so don’t get to many games but I stream every game and watch a lot round my dads or him round mine. I would never ever think the best way to follow the match was watching some weirdo on YouTube watch the match and spout utter nonsense for 90+ minutes out of his mums box room, it’s absolutely baffling

Honestly fair play to them for monetising the fact their mad bastards but who are these saddos watching?
Who is more foolish, the fool or the fool that follows him.

I would just like to state for the record that none of our George, @theEsk or myself have ever considered monetising TalkingtheBlues.

We will never, ever make it pay-to-listen or pay-to-read as we offer an online transcript version for those who are either hard of hearing or prefer to read - unlike others, we're not interested in making money out of fellow Blues.

We are just three lifelong Blues chewing the cud in an imaginary bar and if people choose to give us a listen, we're delighted.

And judging by the numbers who do choose to listen, we are humbled and flattered that so many do and so many comment so positively.

These is nothing wrong with making money from it, I just kind of meant there is obviously a market there that I and others don't understand.

It's like the people who make a lot of money playing computer games, and the uploading it to YouTube. It baffles me that there is so much money to be made from it, but there is, and it is probably better than a 9-5 offic job if you could handle it, and they probably enjoy it so jokes on me

I think people are taking the extreme as in the bald clown from Meath who is doing live shows now that are promoted by MCD, which says alot more about the state of mcd than it does that clown.

I'm involved in a pod about an Irish club and there is no money to be made from it. We give up serious hours a week, recording, editing, launching etc and tbf the pod has a great following. It's a labour of love and as it turns out our club owner absolutely hates us and has actively sought to and in ways has succeeded in damaging the pod. Its a very uneasy feeling knowing what the fans love your pod while your club absolutely hates it

It’s a microcosm on society. Everybody has an opinion nowadays even if they know absolutely nothing about a particular topic, if you shout loud or “entertaining” enough you are financially rewarded. They know their stuff these Arsenal fans. Even before this fellas voice has broken he can sit in the drivers seat and film himself shouting at his phone. I hope he has made enough money from his insight to gain the therapy he needs.

To be honest, there are some decent ones out there and I do include ToffeeTV in that personally. Some of them (like Goldbridge and Anfield Agenda) are literally only good for pure comic value lol otherwise it's always pertinent to remember to not take any of them too seriously either way.

That being said.. the absolute 'worst' about right now are that Astrid Wett and her stable of, erm, 'underlings' who's MO is purely to farm clicks & impressions from little boys which is just morally wrong above all else.

The one with the Goerdie who's a fat mess is fun to watch.

Every time they lose, it looks like he's about to go into cardiac arrest.

A couple of cracking links to LFC fancasts in the 'Witchunt' thread. Reminded me of the Arsenal Fan TV muppets and their regular meltdowns under Wenger. Funny, as an outsider but betrays a lot of what's wrong with Football and humanity imho.

Them you've got decent fan led content featuring discussion, interviews with figures linked to clubs. Measured(ish) analysis and fan led takes on the big issues around the club. These arguably democratise football media in an era of Sky inventing football in the 90s. But they also lead accusations of egotism and seeking attention.

So, on balance, a force for good or ill? Somewhere in between? Please share examples of good and egregious practice for all clubs, including our own.
Utter blerts, swerve with extreme prejudice.
