Father's Day

A big tin of licorice allsorts, socks and a beautiful framed pic of both daughters footprints accompanied by a lovely poem....

"Walk a little slower daddy,
Said a child so small.
I'm following in your footsteps and I don't want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you."

....brought a tear to this old fools eye.

Some ballbag decided to hold the Race for Life in Bath today, so I got an early start, standing in the pissing rain for 45 minutes and a knackered and mardy as **** wife for the rest of the day. Not ace.

Just got the baby to bed and am pouring myself a Ardbeg. Ace.

There was a Mokba one but although I liked the logo and Russian writing there was way too much red on it, an Los Angeles..... mehh, & a London '48, but I liked the Mexico 68 logo (my first Olympics as well). Never know when you might need a bag to pack & our Head ones we take away are a bit stuffed. Also for £8 I consider it a bit of a Bargain.
Basically i got some stuff I wanted and said "Thanks Kids."

in return I got the lads new school bags

One thing that has irritated me today is people on Facebook putting on Happy Father's Day and going on about how amazing their Dad is etc. Why don't you just tell them in person or on the phone than publish it to everyone on Facebook for some reason. Really don't get it and that's why I can't stand Facebook with people telling me every single thing that happens in their life and everything they do.

I woke up at 6:30am, took the dogs for a walk for half an hour, put the coffee on, wife and little lad got me 2 x pairs of CK boxers, 3 x CK undershirts, a back scratcher and a ornamental box for my cuff links! Fair play to the wife, they're all really useful!
Godammit, I'm turning into my old man!

I got took for breakfast this morning too to my fave place. Then spent some time at the community pool. Watched Gangster Squad, now watching Dark Knight Rises...

All in all, a good day!

Good point mate, I think like me I struggle to understand when it became popular to broadcast every inner thought to the world.
