I thought it was interesting too, I guess they thought it might have ended up as a "I'm from Liverpool so I'm a better fan than you" sort of thing, which is lame.

I was born and grew up in Liverpool but now live abroad. Them winning the league would be a nightmare but I'd just have to delete Facebook and whatsapp to avoid that lot, I think being in the city would be appalling 2005 was bad enough this would be a lot worse.

We already have a significant thread discussing the Liverpool FC implications of Everton vs Man City

The proximity of the supporter and their view isn't significant enough to warrant yet another. Besides, who cares where a fan is from? What does that imply? The closer you are to L4 the bigger fan you are?...

From significant moderating experience, and from being in a good position to gauge overall fan sentiment on issues - that thread would have spiraled into petty disputes around the motivation of wanting Everton to lose, fueled further by the 'wool' element, fuelled further by being linked across opposition threads attracting WUMS.

We'll also have a Match Preview thread up very soon - more than enough places to discuss the match.

If i may, i think the tread was less aimed at who is the better fan and more to gauge to reaction of fans within the city and fans who ar ethe other side of the world. I think the view would have been to see if more fans in the city would be happy to throw the game on the basis of the end result of doing so, or how many wouldn't care about it.

I am impartial though lol this is just my thoughts on the matter

The merit/views as a direct result of the location of a fan is never a healthy topic of conversation. What next? Age? Ethnicity?...

To be honest you know more about forum discussions than me! I can see where it would trail off though, which i would assume to be more of the dangers of the internet rather than negative minded people.

It is a shame because it its purest form it would have been an interesting feedback from a whole range of blues on here to see where they stood in regards to the game.

Ironic considering the 11 men on the pitch on Saturday probably won't be thinking about throwing the game at all.
