One had players tanking games, the other had willing workers...and still handed in a defeat with it.If he's a dinosaur what is Benitez?
One of those fish who crawled onto land?
Glimmers of hope in that game, genuinely felt a bit hard done by the result. Maybe we do but I don't think we should rush a decision like that. Dunc hopefully with at least a few more training sessions could hopefully provide a boost for us.There should have ben a bounce there. Even I expected a win or at least a draw.
We need a new man in for Brentford and defo Newcastle.
I could see Newcastle coming here and getting something.

Should not have started Kenny, Townsend or Gomes. Strange decision to not play Gordon or even give Patterson a try.Just got out the ground now.
That was as bad as Anything we’ve seen all season, we are in massive trouble.

Indeed. My thesis has always been that these players are the problem and that managers can do only so much when the raw material is so corrupt. The sentimentalist in me hoped Duncan could get a bounce and his audition would go well enough to allow him until the end of the season as we'd quickly get safe and have the chance to conclude our manager search without needing to rush. Today shows that this is unlikely. In one sense, however, it might be a blessing in disguise. The wind has been taken out of some of the sentimentalists' sails with that loss. Rooney is now their main candidate, so his hopes rise while Duncan's recede. Yes, it's just one game, but the politics of this situation granted Duncan the chance to positively affect his chances by taking charge of the team today - and this result does nothing for his hopes. Prior to today, I had zero belief that Duncan or Rooney were the solution. Today has reinforced that belief, sadly. While it'll be a tough gig for any manager, we simply must appoint the candidate with the best CV. He will need all his experience to float this Titanic.Just got out the ground now.

Lampard is no better. One had players tanking games, the other had willing workers...and still handed in a defeat with it.
Get him down the road now and get Lampard in.
Off an atmosphere and support like that at the start this should have been a game we drew or won.Glimmers of hope in that game, genuinely felt a bit hard done by the result.
