This can't be real, chelsea could be champions of the world by finishing mid table 3 years running, we ruined the fa cup for competitions like this.

Yeah it is a joke tbf, Chelsea qualified because they where the last English team to win the champions league before City from what I've been told.

Who qualifies for this and how?

I thought it was the winners of the European runners up league, versus the equivalent from other continents but it seems there's a fair number of European teams there.

I'm guessing tv money amd advertising is behind bigging it up/diluting the gravitas, as per.

It’s mostly winners of the continental champions leagues over the last 3 years, as well as those with the highest coefficients over that same period. And then InterMiami because Messi plays for them
