I understand that, I was just highlighting that the PL cannot relegate a team to the Championship. They have no authority to do so. The sporting sanction in relation to relegation is kicking the club out of the league. But the Champs clubs would need to vote to accept the relegated team.

But they can give a points deduction, so in effect they can relegate.
let’s hope it doesn’t come to that eh?!

So the rules are there to stop cubs destroying themselves. But if you dont follow the rules, they'll punish you and destroy the club anyway.

We all know the rules were brought in to stop sugar daddies gatecrashing the champions league places. Chelsea managed to sneak in but there's no more room.

However, notwithstanding the above. We knew the rules and signed up to them. So it's a double whammy for us. Excluded from any chance of dining at the top table but we are run by an incompetent board to boot. Woohoo

If the authorities wanted to protect football then put in a transfer / salary cap across the board then the best ran clubs with the best recruitment and academies win stuff.

But that means little old clubs like Brighton getting top 4 over clubs like Liverpool & Chelsea so we cant have that.

Whole things corrupt. Im glad Usmanov & Mosh Man had a go at breaking the cartel. It never worked but good on em for not doing a Kenwright for a decade.

This is the thing with the PL, it’s a bit of a farce to be fair. It has its own rules, but run by the clubs with the mutuality of making money, they don’t like hanging their own. It’s a better product with Everton competitive and in the league, youl get a bit of grace because of that IMO.

They're not going to give a points deduction. Can you imagine SKY Sports covering an Everton game when if Everton won it wouldn;t mean anything?

The devaluation of 'the product' wont allow for it. And that goes for any PL club if it happened. It's just not an outcome that will be on the table.

At worst a fine will happen.

The only thing this 'can' do though is to undermine the relegation fight by distraction.

What ever happens, it's very shady. Mismanagement is an understatement. Any scenario that ends in us being deducted points or (worst case) demoted Kenwright needs to be sent to prison along with the other parasites.
