Financial Fair Play investigation

…most will want to see us drop but I think the likes we beke the ffp rules and if anyone else did the same we'd demand they were unicjsed. of Man City and Chelsea fans are almost as keen as us to see Everton avoid a points deduction.

I still wouldn’t be surprised if this is because Man Utd and RS are the ‘cash cows’ of the TV companies.

Cannot stress enough that nobody other than the obvious and, weirdly, Newcastle for some reason are remotely arsed about Everton. There is no conspiracy, there is no desire to see us drop. We've been absolute muck for enough years that it's a miracle we survived anyway.

Just wait and see rather than speculating, The speculators are just like the press

Premier league have clearly planted this story given it was in numerous nationals today just to gauge reaction.

I don't for one second think it will be anything close to 12 points. Nor do I even believe it will even be points as Man. City will get off scott free eventually yet again so premier league probably know that and will never live it down if another side gets a points deduction that actually relegates them on one single charge.

A fine and transfer ban for a window or two is much more likely and there's actual precedent for that with Chelsea having one in summer 2019 so that's what I'm expecting and club will just have to deal with it.

The one thing keeping me with any positive thoughts is that the details around the charge brought against Everton haven't been disclosed.

According to The Guardian the charge relates to a tax issue connected to loans for the new stadium. If that's true then it's a lot easier to argue the error lies with the accountants rather than anything football related. If Everton have been working closely with the PL since the tax issue was discovered and the issue has since been rectified then surely the charge is minimal so the punishment should also be minimal.

Obviously the charge could actually relate to something much more severe but as the charge hasn't been revealed, the independent commission can word it any way they want to make sure the punishment seems reasonable compared to the charge.

It's all smoke and mirrors until we know the actual details of the charge which it seems we'll only find out when the verdict & punishment is given.

I'm sure this independent review panel will not be appreciative of this 12 point deduction supposed leak from the premier League. So to keep themselves looking impartial it won't be anything as severe as that I would imagine and pray
