'When You're In' is perhaps the finest bass in all Floyd, if not music.

I had some time when I was at Uni listening to Floyd. Nothing but listening to floyd.
did you riot when the "we don't need no education" bit came on?
Of course there were riots back then, Marsh Farm, Luton, but I wasn't involved.
I was mostly drifting in the dark.
"You there, stand still laddy!"
I don't listen to music like that anymore.
Life's full of distractions, smartphones, the internet, satellite tv, the premier league, family...
One day it'd be nice to spend some time listening to floyd in the dark.
It seems to me though that I had more time back then.
As I've got older, life's got busier, the days seem to have gotten shorter.
Time for me is a scarce resource nowadays.

The fact is, The Dark Side Of The Moon is not only Floyd's best work (and I speak as someone who saw them live), but is the greatest album in the history of music and the universe. Ever. And Wish You Were Here is not far behind.
Other than that, Meddle is their best work for me. 'Echoes' as a piece of music is outstanding, especially the funky bit in the middle. And then there is 'Astronomy Domine' on A Saucerful of Secrets......I'd better stop before I contradict myself.
It's funny how some people pick less popular albums as their favourite from a band such as Floyd to appear hip.
Gotta be honest lads... I like every kind of music... From 50's rock and roll to indie and back to musical scores,,,, but I never got floyd tbh.... I think they are gash.
You've got it arse up. Identifying the hipsters is the new hip.
I read it in a magazine.
and hip be damned anyway, it's about the feels we get from the music:
Atom Heart Mother suite > Echoes
(measured in amount of goosepimps)
Do you like Krautrock, space rock, prog, psychedelic, drone, experimental soundscapes? These genres don't order the music in the standardised way the genres you mentioned do. That may be why you don't like Pink Floyd.
