Didn't buy last years version. Actually gave it a break for a long time until 2013 and wasn't really impressed with that version either.

Must say the last one I really, really enjoyed was back when it was called Championship Manager and the 99/00 and 01/02 versions.

The first thing I noticed on changeover to the Football Manager franchise was the change in font and appearance of the screens, things went much smaller. Then in later years the level of detail it went into became a bit daunting to many.

I've given it a few chances since but nothing has ever compared to those days on 01/02 spending hour upon hour playing it. But for some reason I'm really looking forward to this years instalment and will give it another try. Hopefully there will be big improvements with the 3D Match Engine.

Anyone going to get this or any thoughts on this forthcoming release?
 
Everton will be quite boss. I've played hours on end of the last one and it wasn't too much of a stretch to win the league if you made canny acquisitions and buys, and this year will probably be even easier with owning a permanent Lukaku. Up to 2021 on my save and BK still hasn't sold us on, despite about 6 takeovers FFS.

Match engine could do with an update but the last one was plenty fun, I like mine quite detailed but there was the streamlined version too
 
I just hope they haven't re-invented the wheel and have spent 12 months developing the match engine properly.

I'd happily buy the same game with a more logical, less buggy ME on release, but years of buying FM has taught me that it's always wretched until the Jan/Feb patch.
 
Do they still have the editor? I'm not interested unless I can give Everton billions and make some Ugandan wonder kid.
 

Looking forward to this. Bought a new laptop which actually has enough ram to use to 3d pitch, and it makes the game easier as you can see what's going consistently wrong.

They need to improve Coleman, McCarthy, Besic and Naismith on the new one. Naismith works hard but his mental stats and finishing all need a bump, very intelligent player @swisso
 
Besic is out of my hands, can't improve someone that I hadn't seen before his season! Coleman, McCarthy and Naismith have all been increased in certain areas :) can't really say anymore than that I'm afraid!
 
Besic had a cracking season in Hungary by all accounts, there would have been time after the World Cup to make any adjustments, he's definitely got better since FM14, so you'll see some improvements in his attributes and hopefully his potential ability.
