Its a drug mate, and we are all addictslolI have stopped kidding myself that I won't renew or that I will stop going to every home gams and just pick my matches.
I will be renewing and I will be going no matter who the manager is next year, the year after or ten years from now.
It's what I do
August roll on.
Dario it was a working mans game then, also the players were not paid like film stars, you also could just decide on the day and pay at the turnstile cueing up, My Brother remembers going to Goodison late in the early 1960's 20 minutes late due to buses etc -he missed got in and seen us score at the very end , and though great a 1-0 win as going home he got off the football special opposite he could see the old TV hire shops went over to get the sp on all the scores shocked to see the scoreline was 1-1 the other team had scored early on he was only a young lad - devastated!here's something to make us feel even worseMy old mans season ticket, same area of the ground where my seat is now,England World Cup Winners,Everton FA Cup Winners,we had just signed Alan Ball,we had the Golden Vision, all for the princely sum of £9:00
Funnily enough Joey my first game was the Panathinaikos European Cup game at GP,I was only five and have no recollection of the game itself, however I've read a few times since David Johnson scored with the last kick of the game, the ref didn't restart the match and most of the crowd went home wondering if our goal had actually stoodlolDario it was a working mans game then, also the players were not paid like film stars, you also could just decide on the day and pay at the turnstile cueing up, My Brother remembers going to Goodison late in the early 1960's 20 minutes late due to buses etc -he missed got in and seen us score at the very end , and though great a 1-0 win as going home he got off the football special opposite he could see the old TV hire shops went over to get the sp on all the scores shocked to see the scoreline was 1-1 the other team had scored early on he was only a young lad - devastated!

Dario I have put a picture on the pic thread of the 1969/70 squad pre season, none named 43 players and 3 staff - I have asked for anyone to name them I just talked to my older brother, and your hero a very young Terry Darracott may be on it, have a gander cheers.
A young Mick Lyons is on it too it looks like reserves and maybe some A team players are there its from another car boot find a rare picture.
yes he was a very good fullback I got him mxd up in a debate on here thinking of Tiger Macglohan who was bog standard!Yep thats Terry mate,he made his debut I believe replacing the great Ray Wilson at home to Arsenal at the back end of the 1967-68 season
I dunno Joey,Terry still brings back nightmares for me!!but like you say Tiger was on another levellolyes he was a very good fullback I got him mxd up in a debate on here thinking of Tiger Macglohan who was bog standard!
The worst buys in my time winger Ian Wilson from Leicester, and Rod Bellfit from Ipswich !!! oh and Bernie the bolt!I dunno Joey,Terry still brings back nightmares for me!!but like you say Tiger was on another levellol
Weird atmosphere at first for me after the euphoria of beating gladbach. Loads more Greeks there than I imagined many around me in upper bullens because for some reason we could not get our own seats in main stand. We murdered them despite early blow when in form Jimmy husband was crocked early. Joe role missed at least 6 clear headers. They pinched a break away into park end in second half. We continued to batter and Johnson got the scrambled equaliser you mentioned. They cheated us in second leg, should have had pen went out on away goals. I hated that match and panathanaikos. Dirty cheating gets they were. But we had so many chances. Grrr.Funnily enough Joey my first game was the Panathinaikos European Cup game at GP,I was only five and have no recollection of the game itself, however I've read a few times since David Johnson scored with the last kick of the game, the ref didn't restart the match and most of the crowd went home wondering if our goal had actually stoodlol
It's the same thing. You either accept being a mug or not......you're not a mug for renewing, you're a proper supporter.
