The Roots are one of my favourite bands, Things Fall Apart being an utter music.

I'm up for most urban music as long as it's not about squaring bitchez in the candy shop.

Public Enemy, for me are true giants - not only in the world of hip hop but as one of the most powerful bands ever. check out the album `apocalypse 91- the enemy strikes black`. its a masterpiece from start to finish. they played at the academy in l`pool about 4 or 5 years ago and were fcking amazing. ChucK D is da man.......... but like he says `dont believe the hype`.............

Hip Hop is dead. I remember when Snoop Dogg used to make stuff like this

Now he's doing house music with David ****ing Guetta.

Eminem's gone downhill since about 2007. Dunno what Dre's playing at. And havent heard from Ice Cube, Ice T, Nas etc etc in ages. Remember Korn did a couple of rap metal songs with Nas and Ice Cube and they were cool back in the day.

Lil Wayne, Drake, T Pain etc etc have completely ruined it for me with this modern RnB Rap infusion. Infuriates me.

Interesting points bout dance music and the mess it has made within hip hop. I think it's cool, not for me, it should encourage more organic hip hop.

Latest album and greatest album I've heard in such a long time is Oddisse - Odd Seasons. Really really good.

I've seen The Roots live, at the Nokia centre in manhattan.

Love it. Where do you start though. There's soooooo much ace hop hop.

Agree with you about Pac, great poet but not much of an MC. An Lil' Wayne. That's not hip hop. As someone else put it "It's like putting Bing Crosby in with the jazz".

This guy is one of my favourite MC's:

Yeaah! Be here for weeks.

Jay Electronica, one for the future perhaps.

Count me in mate.

I don't have much time for artists talking about the same rubbish (pimps, hoes etc).

Raekwon is doin it for me at the moment. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II, and Shaolin vs Wu-Tang.

You won't hear that on Radio...

That album is magnificent. The first one is a stone cold classic, and that one is the best hip hop record I've heard in the last couple of years. It's astonishing, and easily the best Wu-release in a very long time. Ghostface stars though... again.

Bit left field, but Hip Hop. This man was ace

I remember hearing this for the first time (probably 10 years ago or something) and couldn't believe what I was hearing.....

p.s. its sweary
