Joe says to this day he’s the “only lad from a High School to play for Liverpool Schoolboys”. Sorry, Joe but you’re wrong as I can name 3. Ronnie Goodlass (went to Everton), Mick Parle (went to Everton) & @Eggs (went to Liverpool) were High School students. Indeed, Ronnie played for England Schoolboys whilst @Eggs scored more goals for Liverpool Schoolboys than Joe Royle.
I was always proud of my 25 goals in 19 competition games until I read Gerry Glover”s story where he got 67 in 20. That is truly amazing. Love how many Everton players came through Liverpool Schoolboys, such a shame that route is diluted these days with Acadamies.
