I suppose many of the older women see it as way out of their poverty.
I really think there's a lot of genuine women out there, but sadly it's also seen as easy scamming option by many many younger types.
In hindsight the expoitation works both ways, the baldy gets the sex and the girl gets her money. I suppose you're right in the effect that it's prostitution in a rather crudless way, although saying that using a hooker on very regular occasions will no doubt cost you lot more money in the long run...
In the case of my work colleague, he is not even close to being rich, in fact he's just a poor Joe and has been left a lot poorer after she cleaned him out.
I thought it would've taught him a valuable lesson, but the gullible sod is wanting a second hepling, and probably most would agree he's going to get his deserts also.
