Forgotten Everton Songs

My dad could remember when he was a kid how his Gran would sing "Sandy Scored The Goal" In relation to Alex Sandy Young, whenever she had been to the pub and had a few. This would have been in the 1940s. Of course, she was singing about us winning the FA cup in 1906 when Sandy did indeed score the goal. It must have made a big impact on her for her to still be singing it around 40 years later.

born to be a scouser, victorious are we, if you want to win the cup then you'd better hurry up cos we're Everton FC
victorious and glorious, we took the spion kop between just four of us

or something
The Blues are coming up the hill boy
The Blues are coming up the hill
They all laugh at us they all mock at us
They all say are days are numbered
Born to be a scouse, victorious are we
If you wanna win the cup then you better hurry up
We're the Everton fc
Victorious an Glorious we,ll take the spion kop between the 4 of us
Glory be to God if there isn't any more of us
The 4 would take the F...... lot

..”West is better than Lawrence”. “Joe, Joe Mexico”.

Was never one for singing songs at the match.
I did, especially in the away end - Jim Reeves Distant Drums was a classic
Distant Bums -
Over there, over there,
and
Do they Smell
Like F - ing Hell

Rang out repeatedly with the arms in unison behind the goal pointing repeatedly - the away police were not amused .... :D

Hari Krishna tune

Gordon West - Tommy wright - Sandy Brown - Howard Kendal
Brian Labone - Colin Harvey - Jimmy Husband - Alan Ball
Joe Royle - John Hurst - Johnny Morrissey - Harry Catterick
HARRY CATTERICK - HARRY CATTERICK - HARRY CATTERICK
HARRY CATTERICK - HARRY CATTERICK - HARRY CATTERICK
Yep, remember that one - & the Banks of the Royal Blue Mersey throwing the Kopites in one by one .....

….did you pinch my bobble hat leaving the ground in 1965?

Onward Evertonians
Onward for to see
See the the royal twin towers
Our team at Wembley

See the royal blue jerseys as graceful as can be
Forging on to victory
And fighting constantly

Onward Evertonians don't let your flag be moved
Remmber our song for Wembley
It's we shall not be moved
We shall not...

No not me wore one though in the winter months  - the Flemings parallels & the Dr Martins I stood 6 ft 1 inch crew cut hair scarf tied to my wrist ..... we are the Everton Boot boys ... another song
Im a bow legged chicken and a knock kneed hen
I haven't been so happy since I don't know when
I walk with a wiggle and a waggle and a squawk
Doing the Everton boot walk.

Bertie Mee asked Don Revie
Have you heard of Highbury?
Don said no, I don't think so
But I've heard of the Everton aggro..

There were more verses, but the years have dimmed the memory.

\the difference in those days mainly no tickets needed unless they were massive games like a Derby - the fans were in their same standing spec on the terraces behind the goal the chanting started a good 3/4 of an hour before the game from both sets of fans - added to the atmosphere - no real fan wanted to sit down - it was a working man's game - Roy Keane got it spot on with the prawn sarnie brigade & that was years ago ......

Home and dryyyyyyyyy
You and IIIIIIIIIIIIII
As long as we're together then our dreams will never die

Used to love singing that on my own in the lower Bullens when nobody else would join in with it.
