Swear Yugoslavia would’ve won a tournament in the 90s if the country hadn’t broken up


They had a ridiculous amount of ridiculously talented players.

It did seem that the reasons for the break up were also the reason for frequent rifts within the national team set up.

For pure talent though, they were the Brazilians of Europe.
 
Just googled. First Eastern European and first to win with two different clubs “who played in the final”. So I guess someone else got two winners medals with different clubs but missed a final. Can’t find who it was on google though
Just found it.

Saul Malatrasi won winners medals with Inter in 64-65 and Milan in 68-69.

Played in the 69 final with Milan but not in the 65 final with Inter.
 

I am not sure if anybody has mentioned Amarildo of Brazil. He scored valuable goals in the 1962 World Cup after Pele had been injured in an early group match. Apparently,John Moores was willing to pay £200,000 for him, but the League regulations did not permit foreign players.
