20th March 2032

It was back to league action after Duncan Ferguson made history by getting AFC Fylde into the F.A. Cup Semi Final. Fylde were hit with internationals as Jimmy Dube, Ellis McKimm-Forster and Andy Hasler were away on duty. Patrick Uttridge was suspended for three matches and Tyrone O'Neill was ruled out for three weeks. After being praised this week in the local press, Kenny McPherson was easily beaten by David Scarff who shrugged him off and lobbed it over Osborne to make it 1-0 to Burton Albion on 3 minutes. Three minutes later Scarff passed it through the Fylde defence and Craig Naylor slotted to make it 2-0. Josh Ferguson brought the ball out of defence and forward up the pitch with Jack Quinn in support, he played in Quinn who beat the defence and had a chance to pull one back but the keeper saved, it was palmed away, Quinn with a second opportunity missed again. Christian Hutson came on to replace Jack Quinn on 64 minutes. Mark Morton won the ball back from the Burton corner and sent it long for Hutson to break through and slot past the keeper to pull one back with 13 minutes to go! The game went into stoppage time and Fylde had time to get the equaliser but it was Burton coming forward, Naylor crossed into the box and he found Thompson who beat Osborne to stretch the lead to two goals. It's going to be a win for Burton today, huge points in their fight for survival. Fylde miss out on a chance to get into the play-off places.

DF: Huge opportunity missed, that could cost us come the end of the season and quite frankly we are up against it now. Credit to Burton who battled and rightfully beat us.

AFC Fylde vs Ebbsfleet United
23rd March 2032

Fylde were still short on numbers due to players away on international duty so the lineup remained the same except Macrae for McPherson. 15 minutes in and Wesson fancied the free-kick from outside the box, he got it over the wall and Osborne done well to save it but Dennis was there to knock it in and give Ebbsfleet the lead. There was very little action in the first half and Wilson came closest with a long range shot that was just wide of the mark. 60 minutes gone and Quin plays in Bytheway who runs forward down the right, he gets the cross in but its easy for the keeper to get to. Henderson finds Quinn and he spots the run of Josh Ferguson who slots into the bottom corner on 61 minutes to level for Fylde! Christian Hutson came on for Brett McGavin and Josh Ferguson went into central midfield. It ends a 1-1 draw at Mill Farm, a great point for Ebbsfleet in their battle to beat the drop but it's points lost for Fylde as they remain a point outside of the play-off places.

Bolton Wanderers vs AFC Fylde
27th March 2032

5th placed Bolton took on Fylde in a massive game for both teams. Bolton were looking to secure a play-off place as the season was drawing to a close. Fylde still had players missing on international duty and Patrick Uttridge was serving his last match suspension. Aw in for Fylde would see them into the play-off positions. There wasn't much between the two teams in the first half and it was very cagey. Fylde were defending well and only really had one decent chsnce on goal with Henderson shooting wide of the post on 30 minutes. Abadaki picks up the ball and brings it forward on 50 minutes, McGavin tries to win the ball but Abadaki gets a lucky bounce and keeps it, he gets a sight of goal and shoots low to beat Osborne to make it 1-0. Fylde made changes as the game went on and the fans were not happy to see Henderson being replaced by Donnelly. Bytheway brought it forward on 87 minutes and crossed low into the box, Donnelly got onto it and knocked it past the keeper to equalise! Fylde level the score late on! 15 seconds of stoppage time left to play, Stockbridge throws it to Bytheway and he pumps it forward looking for Donnelly but it's blocked by Flynn and out for a throw. It's over at Bolton and it's a point apiece. Not good enough for Fylde who two points off play-offs with six games to go.

AFC Fylde vs Wrexham
29th March 2032

=Wrexham resut.webp

Just one day rest between fixtures as Wrexham travelled to Mill Farm. Fylde were still missing players away on internationals but Patrick Uttridge was back in the centre of the park. Greg Taylor started at left back and Sean Jones was on the right wing. Sean Jones dribbled forward and played it inside to Uttridge, Fylde look a lot more solid with him back in the side, he played it wide to Hutson who switched the play to Henderson, Henderson cut inside on his right and launched a shot that cannoned straight back off the crossbar. Fylde couldn't find the breakthrough in the first half with the score still at 0-0. Patrick Uttridge had a chance to win the game for Fylde when he took the ball from John Jones and ran forward but his low driven shot was just wide of the post.

DF: We haven't kicked on as we would have liked in the second half of the season and too many draw recently have cost us. The teams around us have gotten stronger and we have missed out on ample opportunities to regain control but we have not taken advantage. If one thing we can take from this season is a top 8 finish and the semi final of the F.A Cup then overall it has been a good season with room for improvement next. We have 5 games to play and it can all change still. The team will be preparing for a trip to Wembley in four days time. It's important we put our frustrations out of our minds and focus on giving Tottenham a good game this weekend.

AFC Fylde vs Tottenham Hotspur in the F.A Cup Semi-Final will kick off at 17:00 tomorrow.

Morgan Feeney has had a fantastic career with Fylde but says today could top all that if they beat Spurs and reach the F.A Cup Final. "I live for days like today, we got here yesterday and there are Fylde fans everywhere. We are all loving it but we aren't just here for a day trip." The 33 year old has been here for twelve seasons and has been part of four promotions under manager Duncan Ferguson but says success at Wembley beats that. "I've played here in play-off finals but playing against the Premier League champions is a different experience. Dillon Fernandez is one of the best footballers in the Premier League and I could be marking him today." The Fylde players have been relaxing ahead of today's game which is due to kick off shortly and team news should be with us imminently.
