Turning your point on it's head, is there another motor sport that suffers from this issue. MotoGP, WRC, BTCC, Indycar all have multiple exciting events were consistently F1 it seems to be the exception.
It's the money aspect, which as @HalfTimeSayers says rightly mentions heavily influences R&D, the technology in the cars, resources of the teams and reliability.

The cars have ridiculous levels of aerodynamics and grip and which, while making it faster and safer, have produced vehicles that are difficult to overtake.

You then get situations now where one team is way ahead of the rest. I love F1, but you can understand why so many people struggle to gain interest.

I used to obsess over MotoGP in the Rossi era. Had the midlife crisis bikes and everything 😂. And had many a weekend sneaked into Oulton Park in the boot of a Volvo 850 T5 to watch the touring cars without paying for 6 of us. Good times and great motorsport smells.

The fact that F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport technology, team personnel and drivers is what exactly what makes it so clinical and procession like. Just a 2 hour time trial some weeks. Any wacky ideas to try and increase the excitement (reduce mechanical or aero grip, reduce power, spraying the track with baby oil) would take away from its status as the pinnacle. Really hard to see where it goes.

I do have links to Indycar through work, and I can even find some interest in the o which on the face of it should be even worse. Feels a bit more oily and blue collar.

That should make the race tomorrow more interesting. Very easy to go off line here and wreck so Verstappen has decent chance of safety cars tomorrow

More windier tomorrow than today. Track like an ice rink. Ferraris with tyres going off it in a few laps. Kev mag on 2nd row and gasly in p5 lol. Could be carnage for the first half of the race.

Perez isn't winning this unless he can pick up the pace considerably. Verstappen fastest driver on track on the slower tyre. He could win this comfortably without a safety car based on current pace.
