Forums evolve over time. In the beginning there is a core group of posters, they have a laugh and people see that and want to be a part of it so it becomes bigger and more successful.
But the bigger and more successful it is there are more things to look after like overheads and advertising. Then instead of an anarchic bunch of fans posting funny stuff and ripping each other there is a corporate image to worry about and so the original posters are disillusioned and eventually start anew.
It's the circle of life.

Actually, just been pondering this. Spot on.

@GrandOldTeam and @Dylan may remember these feelings.

Now they're all corporate. SELL OUTS.
