Sadly Frank is a glorified former player trying to turn experience and success in his playing days into that rarest thing of success at management. It's incredible rare, and those that have done it have had the deck stacked in their favour usually, not slumming it at derby or with benitez dregs at Everton.

Really ought to have been an assistant manager somewhere first to get a taste for that side of the decision making table and actively being the barer of bad news to players instead of being everyones chum.

On a related note, if Ashley Cole was guiding Mykolenko through his recent spell of fine form, are we in trouble hereon...

Speaking of good players seem to also be good managers, Vincent Kompany seems to be doing well.

It's rare that elite/'world class' players make successful top tier mangers in the English league, so the odds were stacked against him. Add to that the fact that he's dog-useless and it was never going to work.

Somehow, I feel that if Dyche does well, he might have to drop low for a job, but if Dyche fails he might get a job on the basis of an interview and the 'well everyone fails at Everton narrative' that Benitez relies upon.
