I think Onana has improved the midfield it is the monies spent on Maupay and McNeil that need questioning
When we bought Maupay, I assumed it would be to give us some tactical flexibility with how we attack. Hes a fairly flexible player, with a decent enough scoring record for the money we paid. Turned out that was wrong, and Lamp wanted to play him in the same role DCL has, making bringing him in flabbergasting.

He didn’t say anything about new players, he was asked about Danjuma but refused to comment. He was asked about Iwobi’s injury and possibly bringing in a replacement and he replied that he wasn’t bringing midfielders in and the club were only working on attackers, centre forwards and wide players.

The worry for me was that he kept talking about bringing players in “for competition” and that he had to work “within certain parameters”.

so we’re scruffs

When Villa sacked Gerrard we were a point above Villa.

Now they are 10 points ahead.

I like what you're thinking here...so we need to hire Gerrard and then sack him so we can accumulate a lot of points rapidly.

I'm not sure the punters will like it but I suppose the cloud that lifts once he goes will make the next few games afterwards joyous occasions where we are bound to win, a sort of Benitez plus...:p

Gerrard had 8 wins for Villa. 25% was against Frank

He’s had money and he’s spent it very poorly. When you’re down at the bottom you need signings that come in and make an immediate impact.

Onana was the big signing, despite our attack desperately needing reinforcements, and it hasn’t really worked out. If he had that money again, I’m not convinced he’d buy any of those players again.

Onana has been one of our best players. And is a young player that we have been crying out for.

The mistakes, in as far as they have been, has been McNeil, Garner and Maupay. That money could have been better utilised.

Does Lampards presser sound like the Moyes ones?

Important thing is we stay in the league...
We will keep working hard...
Not going to change overnight... (To see some progress in a year would be nice)
We want to improve...
