2022/23 Frank Lampard

Martinez had a modicum of talent.

Lampard is a modern day negative Steve Bruce.
I don't rate Roberto (though I like him), but to be fair to him he did earn his stripes as a manager at Swansea and Wigan. He did his apprenticeship. Frank is just entitlement culture writ large: appointed because he was a successful player. He is our Ole Gunnar Solskjaer appointment - except he wasn't even our own great.

Perfectly put.

Managers have supreme confidence in their own ability. It wouldn't be possible to do their job without that.
FL will believe that one win, one stroke of luck could turn the whole season around.
Life must be hell for him at the moment and the pressure unbearable, it would be a lot easier to walk away, I would guess he is already a very wealthy man.

I expect nothing from the West Ham game and I expect we will see the same 11 players put out using the same failed tactics as in recent weeks.

I would like at least to see something different, pack the midfield, play for a point, hope to sneak a goal. We have to stop losing before we even begin to think of winning.

I would also like to see Stanley Mills given a chance at some stage.

The freshness, enthusiasm and lack of fear shown by Anthony Gordon last year played a big part in our survival and now again we need something new and different.

I don't expect that to happen btw.

What for me is disappointing is that relegation need not be inevitable, I think a different manager can keep us in this league.

Are you offering to pay the £40-50m it's going to cost to sack him and the the rest of the coaching staff then hire another management team as the club doesn't make any money and hasn't got it?
More likely between £10-15 million, payable over their contracts and not a lump sum. It’s still a decent wedge, plus any manager we wanted right now would want a transfer chest, we have an old tissue box.

lol lol lol

We aint sacking Diego Simeone lad.
Frank and team are on decent money mate and the figure i mentioned is including the cost of hiring another management team. We don't make any money as a business so don't have any money to hire and fire anymore, then people want to make signings on top of it. don't make me laugh, it's not Football Manager.

Usual school of thought is it’s mean to chuck youngsters into a situation like this and would destroy their confidence. I’m with you, if they are good enough and train we’ll play them. They can have the mentality of “wasnt me that got the team in this mess”, and haven’t got half a season of crap performances causing groans and worse from the crowd after every missed pass. I don’t know personally which young player is better than the senior pro they would replace in FLs shape, haven’t watched enough of them.

We also can’t afford to lose the £90m it would cost us to drop out of the division.
