It's a results business though. Footballs a cruel business. He will be fine in a few weeks.. the fans will continue to suffer
They will continue to suffer because of the incompetent people running the club, and the poor players they have assembled.

Sacking this manager was needed. It isn't a silver bullet.

They haven't even got a list of replacements lined up. They genuinely do not have a clue what they are doing.

I did and do like Lampard as a bloke, but it's his job to galvanise players, or play a big part in bringing in players who actually give a stuff, so it's still down to him, in the final analysis.
The players are crap.

Lampard is a crap manager, and he needed to go a few weeks before now.

But this squad takes us down.

I cannot stress this enough. I've been watching Everton for 20 years now and - I know others have been watching longer btw - this is by far the worst squad in my memory.

His sacking or the way it was handled ?
Everything really, but just the way things haven't worked out. I wanted him to get it right more than any previous manager, but it didn't happen, for various reasons, some his fault, but some not.

Not saying I don't agree with the decision, but find it very disappointing that we got here.

Pretty crap really. Obviously hard/impossible to quantify but it would be interesting to know how much is truly his footballing fault
He's a poor manager, let's be honest.

His failings here have also cropped up at other clubs. He likes his teams to build up patiently and then in the final 3rd he wants a lot of freedom etc. That's great if you've got some genuinely good footballers but ours are at the level where you need to talk them through everything step by step. You can't give players like Gray freedom because he doesn't know how to use it. You can't ask DCL to make goals for himself because he can't do it consistently, and he's never fit, etc.

But the people above have also failed him and the fans. And I'm not just on about the board. Every time you see Thelwell the bloke looks petrified.

Ya. He was a lot more likeable than some previous managers but he's not very good at his job . He will be disappointed but he will move on.
Us fans still have to put up with all the other stuff goin on
I wish him well but have not a whole lot of sympathy for him either. He was only passing through the club .

I tried listening to the live feed on youtube with him not being there, but that John Blaine is just as insufferable.

I had to turn off.

And all that Ste fella does is sit there and mumble that he agrees with what everyone else says.

I honestly dont know how Baz puts up with them all. They must be making a killing for it to not bother him.
John Blaine is impossible to listen to. Just the most patronising, arrogant tone. Like that teacher at school you weren’t very fond of.

A picture speaks a thousand words.

I like Baz, and I don’t mind Ste.

Unlike others, he was genuinely committed to not being though, and that's why it's a shame it's not worked out. It's not sympathy as such, just a recognition that a young manager who has a fair amount of faults, and he very much does, also needs more help than he's had, and a better system above him.

Probably about 70% is on Frank for football matters, he does the training, he picks the squad, he does the tactics, those 90minutes every weekend are all Frank and the players, the rest of the week can probably blame the clown show

Succession of key moments killed him

The Tielemans wonder goal on the stroke of half time

The clearance off the line v Wolves then their last minute winner

JWP turning into Zidane for ten minutes after DCL had passed up an opportunity to make it 2-0

Could even go all the way back to Doucoure’s brain dead push on the Chelsea player first game of the season

Almost all the key moments when we had a chance to stop the rot or build momentum went against Lampard every time. If you’d said at the end of the Palace home game that he’d be sacked soon there wouldn’t have been many takers. I’m not convinced he was good enough long term to massively improve us but given the bounce of the ball another way we could have been sat safely in mid table not having these conversations, instead the Everton death spiral kicks in and another manager is out the door.
