Hope they get him someone like Kudus in January. Think we'll be fine anyway but a bit more quality up top would really help.
Yeah, one more quality attacker could still make a world of difference and turn this into a proper good side. The good thing is they did so much good work on the foundation of the team over the summer that now we can focus on 1 or 2 really good signings per window rather than having to substantially overhaul things.

Form for the last 10 league games (which includes the last game of the season where we'd gave up and clearly been on the ale) has us on 13 points from 10 (1.3ppg) with a -3 GD. Scoring 1.1 goals a game and conceding 1.4. It's not too bad and would be more than enough to keep us up with around 49 points if we can stay in form.

Tbh I always discount the Brentford loss in that run in. We were absolutely mullering them at 1-0 and then had a blatant penalty denied. If that goes to 2-0 we steamroll them that game. One mistake from Branthwaite and another missed red card from the ref and we lost a game that we’d win 9 times out of the easily.

I remember thinking last year that we must have the worst dressing room in the league to be a part of. Just a team of individuals completely devoid of any character, fight, leadership etc.

Massive credit to Lampard for identifying and placing an emphasis on fixing this with the type of players we've brought in. We've got real leadership in the team now (at the back too where it's most vital) and the team performances are so much better.

Still early days but so far, so good.

Hes not gonna retire from Management at 44, I think hes got more ambition than somebody like Martinez.
These days, job security is the holy grail.
He's practically retired anyway if he gets sacked by Everton, followed by a disastrous start at his new club,

With the England job you're safe for at least four, but more likely six years + you'll crowned king of England if you win anything.

I dunno, he seemed quite happy with his year off.

Im not sure hes the type to be desperate to get back to work.

….plenty ahead of him in the betting for the England job;

The narrative will switch, with the same way it has done with Richarlison.

Southgate tanks in the World Cup and they’ll be all over Frank.
There's absolutely no reason why Frank Lampard would want the England job. He's probably on more money at Everton for one thing, and for another, the job is simply impossible. The expectations are totally unrealistic; under Southgate, England reached the World Cup semi-finals and the final of the Euro cup, yet he's being pilloried in all quarters. Remember the treatment Graham Taylor, Hogson, McLaren and the others got - who'd want to subject themselves and their families to that?
