Haha yeah, because we played on a Thursday as opposed to the Champions League teams going out on the Tuesday/Wednesday. That does not constitute “extended” anyway.
I think he means we went to the wrong airport, missed our flight back, and had to spend an extra day in the arse end of Romania. Ergo, last team home.

The malaise that affects our club, goes way beyond individual managers.

A chronic team selection on Tuesday night, but let's not panic.

We need to let him see out his contract whatever happens.

The continual changing of managers and backroom staff has been expensive and utterly counter productive.

The exception to this ,was of course , Benítez who should never have been appointed in the first place.

Let him see out his contract even if we get relegated?

All roads lead to one man when discussing our demise. And it is not the manager.

Genuinely hard to see where it comes from though! Recruitment? Fans? Board?

It is a rot that runs through the club though and I think it either ends with Lampard being back and being allowed to shape the team completely or with us being relegated and the complete shock that would be to the club.

Catastrophically wrong decisions made by the higher echelons of the club on a regular basis.

Managers, recruitment, strategic decisions, endless 'jobs for the boys', and no forward planning.

Aside from BMD, I can see no progress for the last 20-25 years.

Too much icing and not enough cake.

It feels like we need to ask ourselves "are we Sunderland?".

If the answer is "yes", Frank ain't got a chance.

And we should be campaigning vigorously for regime change.

I'm not inclined to make a change unless there is an imminent danger of relegation and that only becomes more apparent in the 2nd half of the season, and arguably later still.

That doesn't represent a very positive state of affairs for the club, but nor does the continuous, and patently unsuccessful, merry-go-round of manager changes we've had.

The more that changes on that front, the more rather than less likely we are to end up in disaster, as I see it.

We need to regain some stability and continuity, and then try to take rational decisions in the context of a more settled situation.

We aren't adrift, but we're firmly in the danger area I think.

But there are two many teams clumped together, so less need for panic and more need for ongoing concern at present.

Just with the league shaping up as it has been, I was hoping to avoid the frayed nerves and finger-biting of last spring, but it seems that may be too much to ask for, too soon.

£65M net spend by Martinez.

It got us a record breaking PL season, two cup SFs and an extended run in Europe.

Not success, but a glory period in relation to what's gone on snce he left...and for a far cheaper cash spend.
Learn to read posts properly. I couldn't care less about net spend.
