2022/23 Frank Lampard

Youve reference Maupay and McNeil.

How about Tarkowski, Coady, Garner and Onana who he brought in over European competition West Ham and Moyes...who was pulled away from the lure of London?

Hes a big pull for players.
Cant argue with that. You're right. However I'm skeptical regarding Onana and Garner. I'm not seeing much in them at present to look forward to a bright Everton future. Did anyone else want them?

Joy? No mate. It sucks

It does mate, should Lampard be shown the door after this weekend (which I don't think he should, even if we lose), just be prepared for the next guy not having hitting the ground running as the problems with the squad a so apparent:
  • Our best striker can't stay fit, we have no other out and out centre-forward
  • We have 2 good CBs in Coady and Tarkowski, but they are limited by their lack of pace which will see us struggle to push up the pitch
  • Maybe Godfrey can help bring some pace to our back line but he will need time to recover from injury and I do think the jury is still very much out on him
  • Our starting left-back is quite solid defensively but doesn't offer much going forward
  • Our starting right-back looks promising but again is young, will need time and behind him you have a 34 year old that is targeted in every game he plays
  • We have a top European prospect in Onana but he is young and will make mistakes
  • In Gana we have someone who has been one of the best ball-winning DMs in Europe over the last few years but is approaching the end of his career and was never great with the ball, even at his peak
  • Our best winger is Demari Gray who is the very definition of hit and miss
  • Gordon is young and is clearly struggling this season, which is understandable but not ideal given he is one of our only 2 wingers
  • McNeil has decent delivery but is not an out and out winger and currently has no one to deliver balls to, again is young so don't wanna write him off
  • Maupay is an okay second / support striker, we will struggle playing him through the middle alone though
I just don't see these problems going away with a new guy at the helm. Lampard has addressed us leaking goals, even if people say we're outperforming xG against, he has made us more solid. But clearly we struggle at the top end of the pitch, and whether it's Lampard or it's someone else we will need at least 2 players to address our faltering front 3.

My prediction is he'll be gone some time this season. I see the stars aligning and Moyes returning I'm afraid. Yet another retrograde step into the abyss. I also forecast many more years of mediocrity that will slowly erode the fan base. Everton is analogous to the cost of living crisis. They're saying it will be the longest recession in UK History. Same with Everton.

The best thing they can do when recruiting a new manager is not listen to the majority of Everton fans. They asked for Lampard and I know he was one of a bad bunch available at the time but it's looking a bad decision.

Many will also say no to Dyche but really he is the best available. He will give the club the best chance of going into the new stadium in the Premier league. He is a Moyes type and this is the best type for Everton in their current situation. We have a bad team and we need someone who is going to get the most out of it. Many fans are suggesting foreign type managers with no prem experience but this is a massive risk.

It's time to go premier league tried and tested and Dyche is the man.

West Ham wanted Onana, Forest wanted Garner back. Garner was rated at Man U, but they signed Erikson and Cassemiro.

There are people who can balance it better than he has. I'm not saying we'd score 70 goals but currently we'll do we'll to hit 40. We're solid only because he has nothing else to turn to.

The elephant in the room is a section of our fans who are that entitled and self loathing that they are only content when electronically bullying a manager out of Everton. After 8 goes of it in a decade you’d think they’d spot it doesn’t work but it’s not about Everton, it’s about them and trying to be more disconcerting than any other bloo.

The fans.
And the opposite end is the ones who drape a flag of a Chelsea legend in our stadium because we came 16th last season and he fist pumps

I've a mate who's a Chelsea fan, I asked him under Lampard, was everyone bemoaning 'individual mistakes and what can Lampard do' he said yes they were.

Lampard can be a proper manager and play to these lads strength. My worry is that he doesn't have enough experience to get the best out of players, as a manager.

His poor Barnet, he was like Samson when he arrived.

Everton effect.

?‍?

End of season Lampard.
