Geez I remember that Portsmouth game, we were rubbish. Think we had Jags and Rodwell both playing CM and the Yak did another of his famous jarg pens. Why was he ever a pen taker, did he ever score one?
Looks like Yakubu only took 3

Yakuku pens scored
v Newcastle in a 3-1 home win may 11th 2008 [Michael Owen became the first visiting player to score in four successive appearance at Goodison Park since Tom Finney in the 1950s.]

Missed
v Portsmouth in that game you said- saved 30th august 2008
v Hull in that 5-1 home win - saved 7th march 2010

Carlo outsmarted Parker with the wingbacks which overran his midfield 2 DM's in the first 45. But Parker wised up in the second. RLC coming on gave their midfield the boost it needed. Also I don't think Carlo expected Mitrovic on the bench. Our CB's kept him reasonably quiet when he cam on.

No, we're about 4 points off.
You should remove those blinkers tbh - Liverpool as much as we hate them are so far ahead of Everton its not even funny, they swatted Everton with a U18 team not too long ago and brushed aside Leicester with about 4 or 5 fit players.

Everton need a host of signings to even challenge near the top 4.

They are just 2 points from the top four tbh

Not at the end of the season they wont - book mark it, I wonder how long some people are supporting Everton and have they watched them as much as I have

I don't think how long you've been watching a team makes your opinion more valuable. You can say I've seen Everton since 1878 and it wouldn't make a difference from someone who has been watching for 2 seasons. Different players, different coaching, different opponents.

The club has work to do, but I sometimes feel people want them to fail so they can say with pride: "See, I told you so. Everton that!"

This defeatist attitude is really something to behold.

That's probably why I used to say Tom Finney was the best player I'd ever seen. Well, apart from Bobby Collins and Roy Vernon.

Everton pretty much dominated that match against Liverpool's 2nd string team, but couldn't get the ball in the net.
