BBC NEWS | Business | G20 leaders seal $1tn global deal

Im not going to pretend to have a grasp of the broader sweep of economics, I'll leave that to the experts in Bruce and Bill.

This is good news though, we need some stimulus to get things moving again. It may be a catalyst for things to start moving again but no doubt theres still a long way before were free of these dark clouds.

It has to be said, the Obama effect was influencial here too. It seems he's played a part in bringing countries together.

Politics is boss.

$1 trillion?.....

Dear G20,

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I recently went on to shorter hours and am suffering more than most from the world trade crash. Members of my family are considering a revolution if we cant keep SKY+. Please can you bail us out?

Yours sincerely,
daveK.

You tell 'em, Dave. :D

I'm really looking forward to more riots and eggs being thrown.

Honestly when it's happening, it's top quality viewing.

Me? I am Mr Conformity. You're thinking of daveK the eco-warrior, dread-wearing, anarcho-syndicalist.

The FT's take on this deal: FT.com / UK - G20 agrees $1,100bn to fight crisis

Like you, I dont pretend to understand all the details, but I think what they're saying here is that the measures proposed are helping to demolish the Anglo-Saxon financial world order.

Cue Bruce to claim completely the reverse and the casino is set to re-open.

I prefer to call it the Anglo-Saxon capitialist-axis-of-evil.

The devils in the detail.

...exactly. And the Franco-Prussian wheels of steel are mowing that mo'fukcer down now.

Anyway - "Anglo-Saxon"...what about us Jutes?

What's the point in giving the IMF money to 'encourage trade' when countries around the world are increasing trade barriers? Unfortunate that there was no mention of that.

What they forget is that if people do not have money to buy goods, no point in making goods and so no point keeping factory open and so sack workers.

So hands up who can afford to go and buy a new car?:dodgy:

Isn't that the whole point of the IMF? Carrot and stick to force the issue?

*brushes dust off The Shock Doctrine*

A trillion dollars in $100 bills (note man in lower left corner)
