We will have to agree to disagree on that - it is THE major difference for me.

You didn't actually read the books, did you mate ?

Game Of Thrones creators DB Weiss and David Benioff revealed they were forced to cut back the amount of sex in their HBO adaptation of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy novel series as some scenes would have them ‘put behind bars’.

The medieval low fantasy series – which is shown in the UK on Sky Atlantic and has amassed a strong following – does not shy away from depicting sex in the land of Westeros.

But many of its source material’s more deviant scenes had to be avoided, its creators have said.

David Benioff insisted: ‘If we’d shown all of the sex in the book we’d be behind bars right now.

‘But the sex is one of the things that we like about the books – the characters really think about it.’

His co-creator DB Weiss added: ‘There’s a lot of sexual content in the books. Some of it involves children, and we couldn’t film it for legal and moral reasons.’

Yes, the books contain sex. But the series still added completely unnecessary scenes which did not exist in the book as an excuse to show boobs and furburgers.

Neither bothered me.

As for the quality of the books declining...I would disagree, even if book 5 dragged one of the plots on for far too long. Books 4 and 5 take place at the same time and were split into 2 books because the number of character narrators grew beyond the size of a single book. As a result, the story feels a bit stretched and stagnant, but Martin hasn't quite crossed into the realm of Robert Jordan; who squeezed 10 books out of 1 book worth of material before dying with a series left unfinished.

There are maybe 5 chapters that make no mention of whores, mate. The sex is unquestionably in the book, it's just easier to overlook when there are no bare breasted women prancing about on the tele.

The series made a whore a character which didn't exist in the books, just to show more nudity. End. of. debate.

Again, not denying the book had sex. It had tons. And again, I have never minded it one bit.

I read the last book of WoT when it came out on the 8th January and it was a HUGE letdown

But as with WoT, this series is suffering in the middle. Book 3 was great though, and parts of 4 and 5 are good but it does drag it's feet a little, no denying it.
