Barry has been absolutely fine this season.

McCarthy is the 'fraud' if we're gonna talk that way. Abysmal or rather anonymous in virtually every game.

Offers very, very little to the team. He doesn't even fluke getting an assist from central midfield, and has been booked five times more than the number of goals he's scored for us over three seasons.

But alas, as with Howard, he has no pressure on his position and thus knows even being awful won't lead to him being dropped.

Tbh, I think he's been running out of legs and I'm glad he gets a bit of an enforced break. Has been significantly better than Jimmy in every way. Martinez has to deviate from his midfield comfort blanket now, and I'll be interested to see what he does. I liked the glimpses we saw of Barkley playing deep last season. Can't help but feel it will be Cleverly, who looked absolutely mouldy in that position for United, if I recall.
