I will be sad to see him go, he's a model professional and great role model for not only our youngsters but some underachieving seniors. Not sure I like it that he's going to WBA but ironically they are probably the best set up for him. Not sure when our fixrure against them is but would be great if he broke the record at the Old Lady. Best of luck to him.

Only positive for me is that Besic should get his chance.

If he stays fit he has the ability to grasp it with both hands imo.

But, I really think we'll miss Barry. He'd have been excellent to use in Europe.

4 players for 3 central positions if McCarthy leaves too...I think besic will be gone as well, always injured.

I'm wondering if Sigurdsson may be earmarked for a central position.

Never been a fan of him, we are better without him. Good luck at West Brom and then your career as James Bond upon retirement Gareth

Ok he's been decent in spells but we shouldn't lose any sleep about this.

I, for one, will be glad not to have that niggling worry at 2pm each Saturday that his name will appear in the team on my twitter feed in the pub pre-match.

Sad to see him go, Yes he's not a starter anymore and I wouldn't want him to be, but there are times he comes off the bench and just settles things down.

You're trying to equate the great Gareth Barry with someone like Cleverley. I'm not having it. Barry has been a great signing. Another year of him would have been good with Europe.

He has been a good signing, I agree. But the year is 2017 and I had to watch him last season struggle to follow players anywhere on the pitch, and those games against Liverpool and Tottenham finished him as a top 7 Premier League player once and for all. He'll be a sound squad player for West Brom.
