The ones here in work are completely clueless about the real world and real life. Lack common sense and spend their life on tiktok/Insta. Its quite sad.. Most well in to their 20's living at home with mum and dad still..

That's just young people in general from any generation.

Also, more and more people are living with their parents into their 30's because of the housing situation.

Would help if you middle aged men were more sympathetic towards the younger generation. The world is completely different to when most of you lads were young.

Our problems are not as straightforward as a generation thing. There is good and bad in every generation. The generations ate just a distract, divide, conquer, technique by the establishment and their media buddies.

Having said that, everyone who was at school from 1992 onwards has had to be taught rote learning rather than how to think critically. It's the basis of the tory national curriculum. The last thing the country needed was a thinking workforce who might question or outwit their overlords. Thinking was the preserve of the ruling classes that went to public school where much or all of the national curriculum was operational. Thus doesn't mean you can polish a turd, as Boris Johnson's etonian education proves - but it opened the door.

Often wonder how Gen Z kids will turn out as parents. Their values/morals, for example. The outlook isn't good based on what I witness on a typical day in the high street, as they are marched through town by their parents completely oblivious to the behaviour manifesting before them due to being occupied elsewhere.

I'm not burying them before they can walk here, like. They deserve a shot at life. I just question will they get it?

Could probably say this about any young people regardless of generation
They're the first generation to be born in to a social media world.

We all know that social media is harmful if overused and abused, but most of these kids will get a phone before they're a teenager with unregulated and unfiltered access to literally everything. I think it's very easy to underestimate the damage this causes to developing minds. I'll never forget seeing the Ken Bigley and Eugene Armstrong beheadings aged 15. They really messed me up for a bit.

Not to mention the draw of being a social media celebrity must be pretty strong considering the lack of other options out there.

In all seriousness, though, I'm getting really sick of the same demographic of people sticking the boot in to a generation forced to pay £600+ a month to house their whole lives in a fking bedroom with no hope of prosperity. Some people really have absolutely no idea how hard life is for young people.

Some people seriously need to educate themselves. The statistics are all there. They just need to read them.

….i see kids riding bikes in the middle of the road, no hands on the handlebars and staring at their phones. Crazy. Whilst accepting how much a part of life they are, I don’t own a mobile & still manage to get by.

Ok boomer. Stick to talking about your sons wedding at the titanic.

Don't own a phone? Do you walk about with a tablet with the default setting in your text starting with elipsies?

Social media is an incurable disease.

And with rent you're spot on. I left London after being imposed a 150% rise in rent.

I certainly wouldn't like to be a young person today. Friend of mine has a 12 year-old and he's the only kid in his year who doesn't have a mobile and he's basically ostracised for it. All the kids are playing sort of together but with their phones in break times, so he's kind of excluded. Probably the right thing in the long run that he doesn't have one but must be hard for him.

I'm teaching my kids about real life. I explain, money, loans, interest rates, university value, working, mortgages, etc etc.. Its a shame a lot of parents don't really.

I swear many of them find it impossible to walk without looking at a screen or hooting into a phone on speaker.

Other than that, not got a great lot have they? Housing, education etc.

Thoughts? Anyone raised one?
Got 4. It’s a nightmare. Mutually assured destruction. It’s loose loose bringing kids up now. I’m hoping sooner or later they will collectively ditch mobile phones.
