Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

3m is also smart from Barca's perspective. There's no point giving him a big price tag to live up to and if he does really well they will take him back in 3 years.

If true, I can't see it being £3mill.

But...I bet there would be a buy back clause from Barca.

I like Deulofeu, he can make things happen a lot of the time. But I'd rather have Lennon if the choice was between them. He's the team player.

Makes no sense to me if we get rid of one player who plays for himself, like Mirallas, and then sign another. We should be looking for players with ability and discipline. That's the way forward. I think some people are maybe forgetting just how infuriating GD was when he was here.

Or take a look at Bale and Ronaldo and see how theyve improved over the years and lick your lips ar Deulofeu's potential.

We had absolutely no X Factor going forward this season in wide areas - we need a threat like Deulofeu. Lennon is a great option, specifically in away games where we need to harrass the opposition; but wingers like him you can get from all over the place. The type of threat Deulofeu has (albeit not honed) is considerably rarer; the ability to run the ball at pace, turn quickly, unleash shots from angles.

It's Deulofeu all day long for me over Lennon, and at £3m it'd be the biggest no brainer of a signing any club has ever made ever really.

I still dont think he can be a starter. He's an impact player you turn to in order to transform the pattern of a game. He's a luxury that a club like Everton cant afford, just like Mirallas is on a lot of occasions. Wide players have to have the ability to contribute to work elsewhere on the pitch and Deulofeu doesn't give you that.

I'd take him, but unlike last time around if he does arrive he'll be starting a lot more - which would be the precondition in him signing I'd imagine, and that is a concern.

Doubt that's the case - he must know himself he's in a bit of trouble career-wise and needs building up correctly. The fact his best season so far was here largely as an impact player will tell him as much as everyone else what he's expected to do in his first season (probably around 15-20 starts).

At £3m, we can definitely afford him. I'd argue that a club like Everton can't afford to pass up a punt at that price given the very real chance he could still turn out to be one hell of a player.

Imagine if we get him signed, he feels loved, focuses on his end product and consistency over the next couple of seasons. He could be as good as Kanchelskis

They money should be there to get both Deulofeu and Lennon, dont know why we have to choose between them.

We should be sticking an offer of £4-5m at the very max in for Lennon and prepare to not have it go through and play chicken until the deadline. We're in a position of power on that one, not Spurs.

If a club wants to pay £9m or something daft for him, let them. He's not worth that.
