I'm all for slating the sh*te, but Sterling does look very promising. In fact, it was Sterling who was keeping Downing out of the starting XI on a consistent basis. Brenda had talks midseason with Sterling about not wanting to overplay him in what was, in all regards, his debut season at the senior level and still at a very tender age. He didn't want him to suffer burnout and was thinking of his long term career and, with that in my mind, he limited his playing time the second half of the season.

I kinda know what you're getting at but if this kid is as good as he's made out to be, let's just enjoy for a season. If all goes well we might get a second season's loan a la that Chelski keeper on loan at Atletico. Maybe after 2 seasons at Everton this kid will be a superstar, let's see how things pan out
