Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Culture of statistics?

Sorry mate, but when do I ever mention stats?

If you're going to call me out, at least be factually accurate

The only reason he'd be on my "tramp list" (good one btw, you really are a bastion of wit) would be for clear situations where he has been too selfish

Notice the language used there. "Too selfish". I don't mind some selfishness from a player when it's in reason. Far too many times with this lad, it wasn't and it needs to be coached out of him so he doesn't keep going too far with it.

Again, I have no problem with the lad being selfish now and then, so long as it is only now and then

Sorry to repeat myself for those who already know my stance, but it seems some blerts didn't get the message and just want to cause bother, so I felt it necessary to clarify things

I'll now bow out of this thread

For what it's worth, I'm glad we've signed him. Would have preferred not to have all the Barcelona extras going on, but I still think he can do well here
We understand but the secret is not to be selfish now and then but to know when to keep the ball, when to release the ball and when to stop traveling into an area that will only ever lead to a dead end. Holding on to the ball and going himself when a pass is on is fine if it leads to him having a good opportunity to shoot or a last minute tackle. The problem I have with some comments is that they assume because he missed or was tackled it was the wrong thing not to pass. After all there's no guarantee the guy he was going to pass to would score either and there's always a chance a pass could be over or under hit.

Mikey. Let the davey moyes hate of free flowing footy FLOW through your veins!

We either get rid or keep, make your mind up

Potential side next year could be

Howard
Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
Mccarthy Cleverley
Deulofeu Barkley Mirallas
Lukaku

Id say we need Baines, Jags and Howard

get rid of a couple, keep a couple. we've got rid of distin and alcaraz which were the prime +30's to get rid of imo. howard is next but i think he'll still be here.

i can see the merit of keeping barry (just play him less) and jagielka as they're good players as well as others who will be decent fringe players. think we need another defender with more experience i.e. 28/29 age. the playmaker needs to be close to/in his prime though. we can't afford to have another youngster - that would be too many imo. nice blend ;)

I'd be amazed if this isn't the bargain of the season.
He's the biggest bargain since Coleman .. no wait Stones .. hang on Besic...
We're pretty good at this here aren't we?

especially when you compare us to that other lot across the park. Their transfer record is utterly shambolic. In the past couple years, only Coutinho has proven value for money. Beyond that, I'm really stretching to come up with anyone that made me think, "yeah, that's a good bit of business".

Made up that he's made up.

I wish all of our players wanted to be here as badly as he does.
His girlfriend seems very happy with the move as well.

Given the number of players that try to instigate moves because their partner hasn't settled (Dann?, Negredo) or they don't want to live in the UK (De Gea) or who turn down more lucrative moves because their family is settled (Cech, Arsenal vs PSG) am glad she is happy coming back.

Absolutely LL, a happy and settled girlfriend off the pitch will make things a lot easier for Gary Dayloafo to concentrate on what he needs to do which is performances on the pitch. Absolute chuffed with the man coming back, I've tried to give him a sounding foreign but not quite name so its easier to pronounce.
